So I have some hats. I love them all dearly and have acquired them in all sorts of ways.

HAT 1: my boater hat. Boaters have recently come back in to mainstream fashion thanks to the trying efforts of susien Chong but I have always been in love. Being a public school boy I have always envied the private school uniforms with their boaters, shorts, blazers and long socks. I love it. I recreate this look (in a more casual way) by wearing it with tailored and fitting shirts with my brown shorts (which are then belted.) I actually stole this hat from my school costume department so it cost me ...nothing.

HAT 2: my bowler hat. My mother bought me this hat from Paris on a trip she took last year. It was especially made for me (I like to say that to make me sound wanky but really she just got the measurements of my head over the phone so it would fit.). Every time I wear this hat or leave it laying randomly throughout my house my mother loves to tell me the story of how she carried this hat all through Europe and how she had to hold it on the plane to avoid it being crushed. What a cutie? I think so. I wear this with ...anything...nothing... depends on the weather.

HAT 3: my sailor hat. Also stolen from my school costume department. I stole it to be a part of a costume but after realising how fucking cute it is, I decided to wear it randomly all the time.

HAT 4:my explorer hat. In preparation for my friends costume party I searched everywhere for an explorers hat. I searched vintage stores and eBay but everything was like"ohey totally original and only $100000000000!".(Exaggeration where?) But then I walked in to an op shop in little old Asquith and there it was staring down at me, in a pile marked two for three dollars. Beautiful work Alex, thankyou Alex.

do you have a story for me?

Lover has been one of my favourite brands for a while, although I’ll be honest and say I discovered them mid-hype. Their dreamy, feminine aesthetic kills me every time I see one of their garments.
And so I have spent my Saturday staring at Lover dresses while listening to the whimsical music of Lisa Mitchell. Given that Lisa Mitchell’s music on a normal day causes me to want to don a pair of pastel tights with a flowy vintage dress and go on picnics, the combination with Lover is not a great one for my bank account.

Right now, this draped lace dress is my favourite. The little loose and low cut sleeves in combination with the lace texture is amazing. I would pair it with pale purple tights, and these amazing Chanel clogs which every girl seems to be lusting after, and go frolic in some green pasture. It would be heavenly.

Of course this Marc Jacobs Fall RTW 2010 dress would suffice equally.
Sorry I haven’t really posted lately, I am irrevocably lazy. :)
