springcolour.

So even though our heinously temperamental weather wont let us believe it most of the time-it is in fact spring! So its time for us to start working dresses and shorts back into our wardrobes- but most importantly it is a time for us to bring back colour. But I must stress caution in bringing colour into your spring wardrobe as you may end up looking like really eccentric English teacher. So here are the colours I am currently in love with that have a feel for the new weather/trends and our skin tone.

MAROON.

Maroon tee shirt $5-kmart. Chino’s- Anglicare depot (so cost roughly less then $2). Vintage brown leather belt.

PURPLE.
Being such an incredibly vibrant colour i must stress that unless it is spirit day-less is more. Courtney is wearing vintage satin bead necklace and country road top.

PLUM.

This specific shade of dark purple is a fantastic day/night wear. As complimentary to the body as the black dress but gives a great hint of colour and goes well with untanned skin ;) Courtney is wearing Postie boat neck, cotton lycra dress- $40. ellen virgonas hat-i'll give it back soon i swear.

BLUE.
the vanishing elephant shirt- $80. second hand denimn vest- $1.50. vintage oroton scarf-$1
 vintage valentino shirt-$2. ksubi jacket-$50.
Blue is a very easy colour to work with, just go for it.

OLIVE.
second hand white dinner shirt- $4. my mothers olive jumper- priceless

Dont go crazy, i dont want to see any of you in all of these colours at once. or jeggings...or something overly floral.

or jeans under a summer dress.

or matching your heels to your your entire outfit.

or ...in fact just call me before you dress yourself.

these are a few of my favourite things

So rather than having a blog with just me standing around looking like a sexy beast (as per usual) I have decided to work in my current favourite things. My new “favourite things”…I’m practically fraulein Maria without that hideous haircut.

1. the outfits!

So one of the trends that has always been in fashion but has now become a staple for both men and women is taking the suit and styling it to feel more casual and to become even the perfect going out-fit. Courtney is wearing vintage van huesen mens shirt, vintage blazer and my vintage Givenchy tie (by vintage I mean I bought it from an op shop real cheap because, well lets face it who am i?). androgyny is in, so I say go for it.

I (alex) am wearing my favourite vintage teal women’s suit pants and basic white shirt. Styled in two ways- with basic men’s singlet and vintage Dior tie AND with my vintage tartan blazer.

2. VERSACE MAN

This is my new favourite cologne, although it is mens and called “man” many of my friends (of the female persuasion) have used it with amazing success. This was a birthday present from two of my best friends so a big shout out to mariko and Ashleigh who are awesome. If you don’t believe how good it is I would like to refer to the night of clares birthday party in which her sister whilst smelling me accidently kissed my neck- as the smell was so alluring.

3. my leather satchel.

Otherwise known as the best uni bag ever, it fits so much crap in it and has like thirty pockets. Bought for thirty dollars at “love miss luck” in newtown which has now closed down-sad kitty. The bag was originally forty dollars but I flirted with the guy so he knocked ten dollars off, but then he started talking about his girlfriend and I was all…pardon? But hey still got the discount and my favourite bag.

4. my calvin klein watch

an eighteenth birthday present from el marge ( my mother). Goes with everything, the love of my life (th)e watch and marge

5. Australian vogue! (and abbey lee Kershaw)

I used to hate aus vogue but I would like to give a hand to Kristie clements because she has really picked up her game and now I have a subscription. Every month i get home and I have a new package of wonderful sitting on my bed waiting for me to devour it.

This months covergirl is one of my all time favourite models abbey lee Kershaw. She is amazing and I suggest you all look her up and fall in love! She was introduced to me by my loving wife and hag Olivia Melville.

6. my vintage mickey mouse/Lennon glasses

I have had them since I was six. They are crappy, plastic and amazing.

Anyway for now dear readers I say tata! Buy a vogue, steal your dads business ties and look up and love my little abbey baby.

Peace out.xx
