"Bohemia is dead" Part 2

Hey gang, long time no blog. Unfortunately my cameraless state has left me relying on Alex for photographs so this is the first update I’ve been able to do in a long time. I like to think you guys have missed me but Alex has nicer legs and new shiny blonde hair so there is a very good chance this isn’t the case.

Anyway:

The 90’s are coming back which means that at long last reefing through second hand bins will require a whole lot less imagination. Just think about  it: the long floral sundress that would normally have required a foot long trim, access to a dye bath and possibly the help of a world famous couturier (or my mother who, lets be honest is the best sewer in the world) to look good can be thrown on with a belt with little to no thought. Of course you may want to wait it out before you bring back the multi-bunned, butterfly-clipped, half crimped half curled quarter straightened Euro pop hair styles because I’m pretty certain the even 90’s were embarrassed by them when they were popular.

Unfortunately I have no more words of wisdom to add here, unlike Alex I haven’t been paying that much attention to the people of Sydney and the people of New York because I’ve spent all of my recent spare time either cutting up old sequinned things for fun or re-reading the last Harry Potter book and squeeing obnoxiously so yeah... on with the photos.

So the way the photo's edited you can't really tell but this is actually a bottle green. It used to be this insanely shoulder padded shirt-maker dress that was about two million sizes too big for me  I had to cut off the sleeves take up the hem and then cut out a bit of the back so it shows a bit of skin. I kind of did this with wearing it to the beach in mind. The dress initially came from Anglicare depo so probably cost like...$1.50 the belt was market bought by my sister and promptly stolen from me when she moved out (love you Sophie).

Seattle Sea Hawks Jersey (stolen from Alex, who stole it from his dad...I think) worn with a standard brown woven belt (Christmas present of 06...I think) and an op shopped scarf ($2.50) I don't know what it is but I'm loving scarves at the moment. I'm slowly but surely collecting them in a box in my room, it could be because they are always at op shops and they never really cost more than $5.

Here's a detail shot of the scarf, it's usually a little less blue looking but like I said earlier...photo editing messes with colours.

Ok so in this shot I'm wearing another of my favourite scarves (it's nice and long so I can do like a million things with it*) it was something like $1 second hand, a friend of mine wears scarves semi regularly and has been known to wear them around her neck like this and she always manages to look like a little anime character. I think I kind of get that effect but it's probably got more to do with my new hair colour than anything else (yes it is pink, no it wasn't to raise money, no it's not permanent dye, yes you can stop laughing at me people who I serve at work). The Op Shop bought Jacket is borrowed off Alex as is the second hand flannelet shirt (the hipster's staple, bless).

*That's what she said.

Anyway, until we meet again folks!
